Great Party!

The web site has a new slideshow feature, so check it out on the Past Parties page.

It was another great party, and we are particularly lucky it didn't rain on Sunday morning. We can sorta handle Saturday or Friday rain, but not Sunday rain. Attendence was very good, and we once again had new out-of-state guests (e.g., OH) as well as old friends who each year come from afar (e.g., NC, CA, AZ). Also, Carl brought several friends for his bachelor party, and they had a lot of fun. Let's hope his August wedding and subsequent years are as much fun.

Thanks to all the party goers who pitched in and helped with things like cutting meat, running the clam bar, and, as always, clean-up. It makes everything go more smoothly. Thanks also to those campers who remembered to take their own garbage away, to recycle cans and bottles, return their cups, park on the street, and clear their campsites by 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. As Jim made his regular Sunday morning garbage walk, he reported that the campsites were again pretty clean, with the exception of a few sites with large bags of trash. Of course, a big thank-you to Chris and Chelsea for use of their ATV, which helped many people make that horrible trip down and up the hill. The minimalists among us know that all they really need at OttoFest is a tent, sleep gear, flashlight, toothbrush, clothing, and maybe a little cash (for the 50-50!).

Jeannie found a great deal on chicken, so we again had lots of chicken to eat. We try to run out of food by Sunday, and this year we did pretty good on that task. However, the party could use a few more dishes to pass, particularly warm dishes. Please use our Contact Us page to ask what dishes are good to pass.

Our first organizational meeting will be in April, at which we'll address party issues, vote on the new theme, and establish work weekends, so check shortly thereafter to learn of the theme for our 32nd anniversary party. Be sure to plan ahead, keeping your July 24-26 weekend free, and be sure to order your ticket(s) early to save money. If you are interested in learning more about helping with the party, visit our Contact Us page and write us. You can also use the Contact Us page just to enter your name and e-address to get on our mailing list.

Please offer your feedback on the party--that's often how things get better. Also, send us your photos, but PLEASE edit your collection and send only those best photos that show the costumes and the essence of OttoFest, and PLEASE send them sized 800 x 600 (if you can do that). Finally, remember to be watchful for deer as you drive to and from the party. They often travel in groups, and you're more likely to see them once you get off Route 219. The most recently retired theme page is here.

SPECIAL REQUEST
Please send us a photo of Herbie, in his 2007 Body Electric costume (with the glow sticks).
